Bakery – Wicker Park.

I finally got to visit the famous Mindy’s Bakery in Chicago, and I’m so glad I did. My friend and I arrived early — around 9 a.m. on a Saturday — and luckily, the line wasn’t too long. Still, it moved quickly, which made choosing from the endless pastry options a little overwhelming (in the best way).
We decided on the Sesame and Smoked Salt Bagel, and I still think about it all the time — easily one of the best bagels in Chicago. It was perfectly chewy on the outside and pillowy soft inside, with just the right balance of flavor and texture. We also tried two pastries: the Peach Cheesecake and Blueberry Kolaczi, and the Poached Blackberry and Lemon Cheesecake Danish. The pastries were good, but the bagel completely stole the show.
If you’re a bagel lover in Chicago, you need to visit Mindy’s Bakery in Lincoln Park. Go early, bring a friend, and prepare to leave obsessed with their bagels — I know I’ll be back for more.
