I tried this restaurant out with a friend who had been here several times. We went for brunch and I really liked the overall vibe of the restaurant. They had nice outdoor seating but it was a random hot day in late February so there was a long wait. We settled for indoor seating which was still very nice and cozy.
I ordered one of the specials of the month. I unfortunately don’t remember what it was called and can’t find their specials but it was essentially an apple pie waffle. It was one large and crisp waffle topped with spiced apple slices, vanilla ice cream, caramel, granola, and powdered sugar. It sounds like diabetes, I know. But It was actually really good and surprisingly, not as sweet as I feared. The ice cream really made the dish in my opinion. The only thing I didn’t like was the spiced apple slices. They may have been overcooked because they tasted a little bitter.
My friend ordered the steak & eggs which was grilled hanger steak, 2 eggs (the way you like), breakfast potatoes, and chimichurri. It’s one of her go to dishes so she enjoyed it. Her only complaint was that she asked for medium rare but the steak was a bit too rare for her and they were really great about recooking it to her liking.
Overall, Gemini is a cute and cozy restaurant with decent food.
