Neopolitan Pizzeria – Old Town.
Flavor Scale (1-5): 4.7
If there’s one thing that brings joy to my heart, it’s a fantastic pizza. Recently, I had the pleasure of experiencing the most amazing pizza I’ve had in Chicago so far. Honestly, I’m not sure if words can do it justice, but I’ll try my best not to overhype it and leave you disappointed.
A friend of mine suggested we try this place, and of course, I was game – I mean, who says no to pizza? It was a beautiful Sunday, so we chose to sit outside in their charming little outdoor seating area right in front of the restaurant. We ordered the Tartufata pizza, which had black truffle cream, pomodoro del piennolo, mozzarella di bufala DOP, and 600-day aged prosciutto di Parma. Special shoutout to my friend for picking this one, because I still think about this pizza all the time.
All I can say is, everything on that pizza complemented each other so well that the taste was simply heavenly. Every bite was a perfect harmony of flavors – the rich truffle cream, the fresh mozzarella, the savory prosciutto – it was a symphony in my mouth. Also, the crust was super thin, so we could have easily eaten a whole pie each.
We also ordered the Sorrento cocktail (Fords Gin, muddled basil, simple syrup, Italian lemon soda, tajin rim), which had a very interesting flavor. I personally didn’t love it, but it was a unique experience regardless.
All in all, I am definitely coming back here again…and again…and again. Just thinking about it makes me hungry. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try. You won’t regret it!
