Italian-Inspired Bistro – Gold Coast.
Flavor Scale (1-5): 3.6
My friend and I decided to catch up over brunch at this beautiful restaurant in the Gold Coast neighborhood and the place didn’t disappoint. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting, with a touch of elegance that made it perfect for a nice brunch.
Now, I’ve always been really picky when it comes to my eggs – they need to be FULLY cooked. Like, I should not see any sign of runny yolk. But, I decided to get out of my comfort zone and try something new: the Crab Cake Benedict. This dish consisted of two poached eggs on top of Maryland crab cakes, accompanied by breakfast potatoes and a generous amount of hollandaise sauce. To my surprise, it wasn’t half bad! The crab cakes were flavorful, and the hollandaise sauce added a nice richness. The eggs were nicely poached – something I usually steer clear of, but in this case, they complemented the dish well. While I enjoyed the taste, I couldn’t finish the entire meal. I realized that I still preferred fully cooked eggs. However, I’m really glad I tried it.
My friend, on the other hand, ordered the Gold Coast Omelette, which she enjoyed. I was impressed by the overall experience. The restaurant’s interior was stunning, the service was great, and the food quality was top-notch. I would actually love to come back and try their dinner menu.
If you’re in Gold Coast and looking for a great brunch spot or a nice place for dinner, I highly recommend this restaurant. Whether you’re a fan of traditional brunch fare or looking to try something new, it’s definitely worth a visit. I’m already planning my next trip back – dinner, anyone?
